Kinja'd!!!

So while casually browsing the craigslist, as I do occasionally multiple times a day, I came across this lovely (well okay sort of junky) Volvo 244 that it's current owner decided needed a small block chevy, but never got around to actually putting one under the hood. So if you happen to have a sbc but nothing to put it in, this is the car for you.

Was being serious. I'm a big Nissan fan, but I don't know a whole lot about Datsun. I went down the Wikipedia rabbit hole, and read up on the Datsun L engines.

I learned something really cool too! The Nissan Skyline (among a couple Datsuns) was the first turbocharged car manufactured in Japan! That's totally badass. (Granted, it sucked. No intercooler or BOV, but still)

Ok, sorry if I came across as a dick. I own a 240Z and thought it was common knowledge that they had an I-6. So again, I apologize!

Good on you for reading up on Nissan history a little bit. They really do have an interesting progression with their engines over the years.

You even taught me something I didn't know! I had no clue the Skyline was the first turbo'd car out of Japan.

Not at all dude, I enjoy the comments. Any time I can learn about my favorite auto manufacturer, I'm all too excited to do so. I like the Z32, I really do, but Datsun absolutely made the sexiest of Z cars.

The reason I may have seemed...say, incredulous at the idea of Datsun making an I6 is because, in my mind (and this is a bit of an oversimplification, but still), Datsun made the Zs, and Nissan made the S's. Zs are VG, and S's are RB, KA, SR, CA. VGs are V6s, and S's are I4/I6.

So, without thinking about it, I kind of guessed/assumed that Datsun was all about the V6. I'm a huge fan of inline engines, and am glad to hear that Datsun played around with them back in the day. Now when I get my 510 (which is inevitable. I love that car), I can throw an old school I6 in there.
